Daniel Richard Muller
Daniel has been general director of New Covenant Forum since November 2009. For six years prior to that, he served as a missionary with the Toronto branch of Jews for Jesus.
Daniel received a Bachelor of Religious Education (BRE) from Tyndale Bible College (now Tyndale University College and Seminary). He was ordained in 2006 within the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada.
Daniel was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario to Jewish parents. The family was actively involved in the Conservative synagogue there. He was circumcised, went to Hebrew School, had his Bar Mitzvah and attended Shabbat services weekly throughout his childhood. Religiously, he felt at home.
Eventually, however, he began to notice a discrepancy between the relationship to God spoken of in the Jewish prayer books and Scriptures, and what he saw around him. He began a spiritual quest, seeking fulfilment in New Age spirituality based on Eastern philosophies and occult practices, and in the theatre—but neither satisfied. By the time he was 32, he had failed at university and at marriage.
A Christian woman began telling him about Jesus, but Daniel didn’t believe in God, and besides, “you can’t be Jewish and believe in Jesus.” Or so he thought. Her arguments were compelling, and Daniel started to search the Scriptures for himself. The more he read, and the more he observed the lives of believers, the more he sensed the truth.
But it was not an easy decision. After all, he was Jewish. Culture, family ties, and his social network all held him back. But truth prevailed, and on November 1, 1998, Daniel accepted Messiah Yeshua as his Savior and Lord. He has served the Lord in increasing capacities ever since. Today, Daniel is more convinced than ever that believing in Jesus is the most Jewish thing a Jewish person can do.
Daniel is married to Lynda, the Christian woman who first shared the Gospel with him. Together they have two wonderful sons, Aaron and Ethan.
